With the 2026 Union Budget, Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman has indicated that India’s creative economy is more than simply entertainment; It is a growing economic contributor and major source of employment for the country’s youth. One of the largest announcements in this budget includes the government’s promise for commitment to the growing Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) sectors, acknowledging that India will need 2 million professionals by 2030 to fill the growing demand.

All thanks to the rise in:

Digital consumption

Global outsourcing

And immersive technology

With all these above written factors, India’s AVGC sector is growing quickly. Indian creative and technology professionals are no longer just working on international projects, they are now creating and distributing original content, stories, characters, and games to millions of users worldwide. According to the government, this sector is a growing field and is expected to need 2 million skilled professionals by 2030; this is a really a staggering opportunity for all the aspiring professionals.

Union Budget 2026 Pushed “The Orange Economy”

Well, term orange economy is itself modern. So, those who do not know what exactly orange economy is… for them…

“Orange Economy” is the term which is used to describe industries which is driven by creativity, culture, design as well as intellectual property. And in the Union Budget 2026, the major focus was on this so called “orange economy”.

Now coming back to the point of our discussion…

The Finance Minister, honourable Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted the importance of this theme during her budget speech which officially included AVGC sector under India’s future growth plans.

In her speech, Nirmala Sitharaman said that the AVGC sector is expanding rapidly and will require around two million professionals by 2030.

Along with this, she also spoke about a very important step to improve skill development in the AVGC sector. The government has proposed to set up AVGC Content Creator Labs in 15,000 secondary schools and 500 colleges across India. The main idea behind this move is simple. Students should not wait until graduation to understand creative technology. They should get exposure from an early stage.

With strong vision and foresight, Red Apple Learning, in collaboration with Scope, has already taken similar steps. We have partnered with more than 25+ schools and colleges to build Scope Innovation Labs. These labs are designed to introduce students to the world of digital creativity at the right time, when their curiosity and imagination are at their peak.

Through these labs, young learners get hands on exposure to digital tools, creative software and technical platforms that are directly connected to industry requirements. Instead of only reading from textbooks, students actually learn by doing. They explore:

Animation basics

Design concepts

Storytelling methods

And even the fundamentals of game creation

The thing which we all know that traditional learning often focuses only on theory, but industries today demand practical knowledge and creative thinking. These labs help bridge that gap. They encourage students to:

Think creatively

Solve problems

Understand design logic

And become comfortable with modern animation and game development tools

Most importantly, these labs do not just create interest. They build a strong foundation.

20 lakh skilled workers by 2030

One of the biggest challenges which the AVGC industry has faced for years the shortage of trained professionals. Despite strong demand from studios, agencies as well as gaming companies and digital platforms, India still struggles to produce enough trained professionals to fill available roles.

By projecting a requirement of nearly 20 lakh skilled workers by 2030, the government is also  acknowledging the fact that India must build a large workforce who will be capable of competing on both global as well as domestic stages. Whether in:

Animation pipelines

VFX production

Game design

UI/UX creativity

Or comic storytelling

the need for professionals who are trained and job-ready is essential for sustained growth.  So, for a beginner who wants get into the industry, it is a great chance, to learn from a reputed institute and start their professional journey in this highly prosperous industry.

How Does Blockchain Work

BLOCKCHAIN!!!

Since last 10 years, mainstream people started exploding and exploring about “BLOCKCHAIN”… But as a beginner as you started searching “What exactly blockchain is all about?” but everywhere, with so much technical jargon it becomes difficult to understand.

Now let us understand in simple terms…

For instance: you and your friends have a notebook which you all share. Every time someone borrows money, or makes any transaction… you all write it down in that same one notebook. And once something is written on the notebook, no one ever can erase it. And even if someone tries to cheat or tear, the rest of the group can check the notebook and catch the person immediately.

So, the shared notebook which we all are talking about is what blockchain technology is.

But blockchain is digital.

Now the term comes…

What is Blockchain?

It is a digital record-keeping system. You will understand it more precisely… let us

Block = A group of data (like transaction details)

Chain = These blocks are connected one after another

So, blockchain is simply a chain of blocks which stores information.

But the main features of the blockchain are:

It is decentralized (no single person or authority controls it)

It is transparent (each and every person in the network can see the records)

It is secure (once data is added, it cannot be easily changed)

And in blockchain, once something is written and confirmed, it becomes permanent.

This is why people trust blockchain for things like:

Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin)

Smart contracts

Digital assets, and more.

How Does Blockchain Work?

You make a transaction.

The transaction is broadcast to a network of computers (which is called as nodes).

The computers verify the transaction.

Verified transactions are combined into a block.

The block is added to the chain.

The record becomes permanent and cannot be changed.

Why Is It So Secure?

Because:

Every block has a unique code called a “hash.”

Each block is connected to the previous block.

If someone tries to change one block, it changes the hash.

That mismatch alerts the whole network.

So hacking blockchain is extremely difficult because you will need to change thousands of computers data at the same time.

That’s why blockchain is considered highly secure technology.

What Is the Best Way to Get Into the Industry as a Beginner?

Now as a beginner, it is very normal to ask questions like how can YOU enter this field?

Blockchain is growing very fast. Companies are hiring:

Developers

Analysts

Researchers

And consultants

And the demand is increasing in India as well. Th easiest way you can enter this field is with the assistance of blockchain development course in Kolkata. These courses will help you to become a professional blockchain developer in just a year. And professional courses will also help you in getting into the industry because right after the completion of the course you will get direct in-house and pan India placement support.

And long with that the three things which you will need is:

Curiosity. Patience. And Consistency.

And who knows? The next big Web3 startup might just have your name on it.

All the best!

Global Game Jam 2026 Kolkata Edition: A Success Story by Red Apple Learning

Red Apple Learning x Scope Gaming Community Organized Global Game Jam 2026 Kolkata Edition Was a Massive Success

Kolkata’s youth have marked their presence on the global map AGAIN!!! And this time on a scale which truly turned heads across the global gaming community.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) 2026 Kolkata Edition concluded as a massive success. Globally, people saw the city’s powerful participation in the world’s largest game creation marathon. This was the 3rd consecutive year where Red Apple Learning x Scope Gaming Community successfully organized “The Global Game Jam”. And this year’s edition proved that Bengal is rapidly emerging as a serious force in the global gaming ecosystem.

This year the Global Game Jam was hosted at the Red Apple Technologies production house (a cutting-edge 12,000 sq ft facility at Mani Casadona, Newtown, Kolkata) so the Kolkata leg of GGJ is 3x bigger and way more dynamic than the previous years.

This year the Kolkata jam witnessed over:

  • 150+ registrations
  • 100+ active jammers worked day and night to create original games within 48 hours (from 30thJanuary 2026 to 1st February 2026).
  • 50+ observers attended to explore career opportunities in India’s growing AVGC industry.

So, the event became both a creative challenge as well as a strong learning platform for the youth. Also, by the end of the jam, an impressive 22+ original games were

successfully developed as well as demonstrated. Each and every game which was demonstrated showed:

  • Innovative storytelling mechanics
  • Unique gameplay systems
  • And amazing character building

And the quality of projects showcased the growing maturity of the region’s game development talent.

As an official sponsor, Mr. Pranabes Chandra, owner of CHANDRACON.CO.IN, strengthened the event’s momentum, along with community-focused platform www.playzhub.com, providing participants with enhanced opportunity as well as strategic connection.

The scale of participation welcomed a phenomenal mix of students. A total of 48 institutions from across India and abroad took part in the celebration of creating games… institutions like:

IIT Patna || IIT Kharagpur || Netaji Subhash Engineering College || NSHM Durgapur || University of Chichester || Pailan College of Management and Technology || Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University || The Indian College of Art and Draughtsmanship || Calcutta University and many more…

The event became even more special with the presence of eminent industry leaders and visionaries. Among the distinguished guests was:

  1. Shri Debashis Sen, Former IAS and Ex-CMD of HIDCO
  2. Saurav Gupta, Co-founder of Gunjan Apps & Solutions
  3. Pronoy Chatterjee, Founder of Unquiattable

Who shared their own entrepreneurial journeys, provided practical insights on becoming a successful professional, how students can start small but think big, develop the right skills, stay consistent, take smart risks, and also how they can turn their passion into a sustainable profession in this prosperous AVGC industry.

Adding more inspiration to the event was Mr. Arup Roy, Founder and CEO of Red Apple. He said that “the future of entertainment and digital media belongs to those who are not afraid to try new ideas and experiment. He highlighted how important teamwork, consistency as well as ‘out of the box thinking’ are. He also reminded everyone that a small game made during this 48-hour jam could one day turn into a successful product in the global market, the only thing which is needed as a beginner is to dream big.”

On the 3rd and final day “the game submission and presentation day” we were honoured to have Mr. Satyajit Chakraborty, veteran game developer and Founder of Flying Robot Studio, with us.

He provided proper guidance to the jammers…explaining clearly:

  • What to do
  • What to avoid
  • And how to make a game more meaningful and impactful

He also spoke about:

  • Polishing gameplay
  • Focusing on user experience
  • And building games which will truly connect with players

His honest advice really helped the jammers.

And now the biggest highlight of this year’s edition was…

Kolkata’s jammers recorded higher game submissions compared to several major metropolitan hubs.

It was a proud and powerful moment for Bengal’s developer community. This clearly showed each and every one of us that the gaming ecosystem in West Bengal is growing faster than ever and getting stronger each and every year, and continuously making its mark on the national stage.

Also, globally, this year the GGJ event recorded over 35,427 participants worldwide and developed more than 12,100 games within just 48-hours timeframe.

Hats off to the spirit of every jammer who:

Coded through the night || Brainstormed beyond limits || Turned ideas into playable experiences ||
That too within 48 hours

Kolkata has really set a benchmark, and the momentum is only getting stronger.
